" I have been told my
many friends and other concerned people that time heals all pain. Well, I
am thankful that Connie and Gloria have been able to do their best at a most
devastating time in our family. Just as importantly, the after-care
contact with my father and I this past year with phone calls, letters and books
was very much appreciated."

"Just a note to say thank
you for all your love and support shown to myself and my family over the past
months. Your respect, dedication, love, encouragement and professionalism
was just given to us as a great gift, a gift we will never forget. Along
with your first letter was Doug Manning's first book, The Pain of Grief. I
couldn't wait for this book to arrive as I needed some guidance. Gloria,
Connie, and Doug Manning - you have walked with me every day of my journey and I
thank you for being there for me and my family."
Bernice Otsig, Spalding, SK
"Just a short note to say how much I appreciated the after
care I receive from Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home after my husband passed
away two years ago. The pamphlets and information always came at a time
when I needed them most. As well there were many phone calls and visits.
The information that was available for the support that I needed was awesome.
They totally understood what I was going through and were always there to assist
and support me. It has been two years in which I have gone through alot of
changes in my life. I felt with the support I got with the phone
calls and visits I was better able to cope with the difficult situation I was
in. I feel I have grown stronger and today I feel much better and am able
to move on with my life in new directions. I have become a stronger
person.

"In our recent loss of a husband and father, we would
like to offer heartfelt thanks to Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home. As we
were well informed of our choices of arrangements, all of our special requests
were met with warm cooperation and understanding. The much appreciated
Christmas memorial service held at the funeral home provided a time for sharing
with others also in need. The Continuing Care Series of books is so
vitally important in the months to follow. This is just another feature of Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home's service. Each book is also accompanied
by a wonderful caring letter from Gloria!
Mildred Lemke, Bruno, SK
" I would like to say Thank you to a couple of special
ladies, who helped us through the loss of my husband and our father. The
first couple of months I was just lost, as I had no one to talk to or sit
outside and enjoy a nice evening with. The family was a great help, but I
know they were also hurting. We talked many times of things we did
together as a family, which helped our grief. When I received the first
book there were many things in there, which I was going through. The
other books were also very interesting and also helped me understand a few
things I was going through. They also helped me deal with my grief.
I would advise anyone who lost a loved one to read these books. They
will help you understand the sorrow and pain as well as give you peace of mind.
My husband is gone just about a year and I still grieve for him. I would also
like to say that the Candle Light Vigil of Remembrance was just beautiful."

Christmas Vigil Service
Aftercare is simply the care received after
the funeral. We have implemented an excellent Aftercare program because we
feel the care after the funeral is as important as the care during the funeral. We keep in contact with each family that we serve, for one
year after the funeral. We feel that by doing this, the family doesn’t
feel that they’ve been forgotten as time goes by. A series of four booklets,
written by renowned grief author, Doug Manning, are mailed out to families throughout the year, at three weeks,
three months, six months and eleven months after the funeral. At
approximately two months after the funeral, our aftercare staff member,
Jenny Irwin, phones
each family and will meet with them if they wish.
She will also provide follow up phone calls for as long as a family
feels they need that contact. We have reputable
grief counselors that we are able to refer families to; both in Humboldt
and Saskatoon; if they should need further help during their grief process. On
a Sunday before Christmas, we also have a Memorial Vigil Service for all
families that we have had the honor of serving in the past year. All
“firsts” are difficult in the year after the loss of a loved one,
however, many people have commented that Christmas is one of the hardest.
The Vigil Service is comforting during an often
difficult season. Throughout the 7 years we've been
administering this program we have had many families comment that this Aftercare program has helped them
through a very difficult time. Often people can't wait to get
the next book, they have found that they arrive "just when they've
been needed". With this program, families have the
opportunity to work through their grief in their own time, with support
available at any time. |
