Eva (Kushniruk) Homenuk

Eva Homenuk (nee Kushniruk) was born on May 27, 1931 on her grandfather's homestead near Buchanan.  She was the first of nine children born to John & Effie Kushniruk.  She married Nick Homenuk from Valparaiso area on August 2, 1950.  They farmed NW of Valparaiso for two years before moving to the Weekes area in 1953.

In November 1961 she decided to follow Jesus and was baptized.  Her life change directed many family decisions.  She was very happy when in August 1968 her four children were baptized.    

In July 2011 Nick experiencing poor health passed away.  Eva's dedication to serving the Lord and others was foremost to her.  Her final days were spent communicating with her best friend Jesus in prayer and reading the Bible.

Eva was predeceased by husband Nick, daughter Beverly and brother John. She will be forever loved and missed by son Jo (Myra) of Weekes, daughters Sharon (Alex) Vaneck of Red Deer, Alberta and Donna (Albert) of McCreary, Manitoba, son-in-law Gerry Radcliffe of Clive, Alberta, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, her brothers Nick, Matt, Orest and Daniel, sisters Elsie, Victoria and Ida.

The Funeral Service for Eva was held on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Tisdale Civic Center, officiated by Pastor Rick Harwood.  Interment followed in the Star City Cemetery.  Memorial Donations in Eva's memory may be directed to Amazing Facts Ministries.
