George Fahl

August 9, 1936 ~ January 27, 2017 (age 80) 80 Years Old

The death of George Fahl, 80 years of Humboldt, occurred on January 27, 2017 at St. Mary’s Villa. George was born August 9, 1936 in Humboldt to Alois and Mary (nee Wessolowski) Fahl. He grew up on a farm just south east of Humboldt and attended St. James Country School. After he graduated George had various jobs working in Flin Flon, MB and Drayton Valley, AB as well as  Bernhard Motors and Case (CCIL) in Humboldt.  On October 4, 1960 George married Helen Buchacher.  They lived in Humboldt and during that time George was a volunteer firefighter for a span of 10 years.  In 1972 they bought George’s Grandfather’s farm. On the farm they grew grain and raised cattle and horses. He also had his own backhoe business and operated grader for RM of Humboldt and Wolverine. George loved horses, was involved with his children in 4-H and many weekends you would find them at various horse or cattle shows. George will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Helen of Humboldt; their daughter, three grandchildren and one great grandchild: Cheryl (Greg) Brockman and family Scott (Ashley) Brockman, Alana Brockman (Chad Bauer) and daughter Tenley all of Humboldt; grandson Dylan Brockman of Humboldt, brother Otto (Pauline) Fahl of Humboldt, and brothers-and-sisters-in-law: Marcella Fahl of Prince Albert, Eugene Schedlosky of Saskatoon, Barry McGladdery of Rosetown, and Ernie Mussato of Surrey BC; and numerous nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents Alois and Mary Fahl, parents-in-law Frank and Mary Buchacher, son Neil Fahl and one brother and three sisters: Alois Fahl, Elsie Schedlosky, Evelyn McGladdery and Linda Mussato. The Funeral Service for George was held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 2:00p.m. at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt officiated by Fr. Joseph Salihu. Interment followed in the St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan.
