July 2, 1951 ~ July 8, 2016 (age 65) 65 Years Old

KELLER – The family is very saddened to have to announce the peaceful passing of Murray James Keller 65 years of Humboldt on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Humboldt District Hospital surrounded by his family, after a very long and courageous battle with cancer.  Murray was born on July 2, 1951 in Humboldt to Joseph and Margaret (nee Morley) Keller.  He obtained all of his education in Humboldt.  Following this he entered the program at Kelsey Institute and received his Millwright Diploma.  Murray worked as an insurance agent for a short period.  He then obtained employment at PCS Lanigan as a Millwright. Murray later worked for a short period at Feed Rite, but returned to PCS where he remained until retirement.  Murray loved the outdoors and always kept busy with many activities from camping to fussing over his beautiful garden of lilies.  He had a favourite place that he loved to travel to and that was Osoyoos, BC which he called “God’s Country”!  Murray was not really fond of water but loved fishing and be in competition with his friends as to who would catch the “big one”.  His children recall his love for motorbikes and all have memories of rides on his bikes.  His love for motorbikes remained throughout his life.  Last year he was very excited to purchase a side by side bike so Darcy and Murray were able to have many wonderful adventures.  Murray was an avid gardener and took pride in beautifying their yard with flowers, fish ponds and water falls. Everything was manicured to perfection.  Murray and Darcy had a wonderful relationship for 27 years and on July 27, 2002 they made their commitment to each other by having a formal wedding ceremony, a day they both cherished.  Family was very special to Murray he loved his roll as a grandfather and enjoyed spending time with them.  Murray was a very strong man which was shown by the strength and courage he had battling the disease of cancer for 16 years with dignity and poise.  Murray’s gentle, caring and loving personality will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Darcy Keller of Humboldt; his children: Brandi (Brad) Flottemesch of Humboldt and children Madison Keller and Shane Flottemesch; Terry (Rene) Keller of Saskatoon; Michael Keller (Scott Metz) of Calgary, Cameron Keller of Edmonton and Nikita Keller (Mason Bauml) and children Everett Bauml and Garrett Bauml; step daughter Raylene Plemel (Jonas Archibald) and children Trinity Blackman, Tianna Blackman, Metehya Charles and Kashton Archibald; mother-in-law Roberta Krentz of Bruno; sister-in-law Rhonda Wagstaff of Lethbridge; brother-in-law Cory (Laurie) Krentz of Saskatoon; nieces, nephews  and by many very good friends.  Murray was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Margaret Keller; two sisters: Joan (Herb) Forreiter and Yvonne (Larry) Lukan; and father-in-law Harold Krentz.  A Celebration of Life was held on Monday, July 11, 2016 from Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home Humboldt, led by Jenny Irwin.  Memorial donations in Murray’s memory maybe directed to Saskatchewan Cancer Agency.  Interment will follow at a later date.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to MALINOSKI & DANYLUIK FUNERAL HOME Humboldt. 306-682-1622.
