William "Bill" John Regush

It is with great sadness the family of Mr. William John Regush, 87 years, of Humboldt announce his passing on Monday, August 22, 2016 at Humboldt District Hospital.  William was born on November 18, 1928 to Michael and Mary (nee Zerebeski) Regush at Prud’homme.  He attended Napthan School and went on to high school at the Sheptysky Institute.  William worked at various jobs from Edmonton to Ontario then to Saskatoon where he was a parts man for the Oliver Corporation.   In 1962, William married Elizabeth Swidzinski and they took over the family farm at near Prud’homme.  Together they farmed for 43 years and then retired to Humboldt in 2005 where they lived until the present.  William enjoyed music, socializing, dancing, his family, friends and his church.  William will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years Elizabeth Regush of Humboldt; four children: Christine (Alvin) Solomon of Saskatoon, Sandra (Kelly) Kocay of Prud’homme, Randal (Candice) Regush of Prud’homme and Ryan (Lexy) Regush of Saskatoon; 11 grandchildren: Marissa Solomon, Steven Solomon, Korey (Staci) Kocay, Kyle Kocay, Kurtis Kocay, Tyler Regush, Nicole Regush, Trevor Regush, Liam Regush, Gavin Regush and Nigel Regush; one great granddaughter Brooke Kocay; sister Olive Wegman; and brother-in-law John Burkatsky.  William joins in eternal peace with his parents Michael and Mary Regush; two brothers Peter Regush and Steven Regush, in infancy; one sister Anne Burkatsky; mother-in-law Anne  Swidzinski; father-in-law John Swidzinski and brother-in-law Paul Wegman.  The  Funeral Mass for William was held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt celebrated by Fr. Greg Smith-Windsor. Interment followed at Borschiw Cemetery, Prud’homme District. Memorial donations in Bill’s memory may be directed to Borschiw Cemetery or The Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan.
