Robertine "Bobbie" Schneider Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Robertine “Bobbie” Patricia Schneider (nee Allan), 88 years, of Lanigan, on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Central Parkland Lodge, Lanigan. Robertine “Bobbie” Patricia Schneider was born on March 3, 1931 in Tisdale, SK.  Bobbie was the youngest of six children born to Nelson and Elizabeth Allan.  Bobbie grew up in Porcupine Plain where she received her public education and later attended business college in Saskatoon.  Returning to Tisdale, Bobbie started her banking career.  Bobbie married George Saunders on May 24th, 1954.  Having children, Nelson, Allyson, Karen and Brian, put Bobbie’s career on hold and they settled their family in Gleichen, AB.  Bobbie took a bank transfer and her and the children moved to Humboldt in 1971.  In 1975, Bobbie met Sam Schneider and they wed in 1978.  By that time, Lanigan had became home after another bank transfer in 1976.  Bobbie continued working with the Lanigan branch until her retirement in 1990. Enjoying life to the fullest, Bobbie and Sam spent 6 winters in Mesa, Arizona; enjoying golfing, all kinds of music, dancing and socializing.  Bobbie was an outstanding athlete; pitching fastball until into her 60’s, “bonspieling” until the ice got too cold, playing pool, bowling and golfing into her 80’s and dancing whenever she got the chance.  Bobbie loved the outdoors, going on golfing holidays with her sister, Geraldine, and others; and going fishing.  Bobbie was an avid gardener – her grass was always cut “just so” and she so enjoyed it when the peonies, lilies and gladiolas would bloom in the summer.  Bobbie treasured the time spent with her very special sister, Geraldine, who she missed so much.  Bobbie loved to spend time with her grandchildren, often using her vacation days from the bank visiting her children and cooking, cleaning and mending for her family.  The grandchildren had their first golf cart rides with their grandma, had multiple sleepovers with her and baked with her.  Bobbie had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and tell a good story.  She loved the 19th hole in golf and the 9th end in curling.  She could tell lots of stories about last minute road trips to Manitoba, gatherings in the kitchen and cakes with many candles. Bobbie loved Lanigan and she loved Saskatchewan.  She was very proud to be from here.  She loved this small town, how people helped each other and how she knew almost everyone.  Whether there was snow to shovel, mail to be picked up or a meal to be dropped off, Bobbie knew that there were people here who she could absolutely count on.  Bobbie will be forever remembered and sadly missed by her four children: Nelson (Sharon) Saunders of Saltcoats, SK; Allyson (Kevin) Stroeder of Lanigan; Karen (Mark) Mitchell of Chardon, Ohio; and Brian (Tammy) Saunders of Edmonton, AB; her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Tyler Saunders, Tanice (Brandon) Mackie and children Isabelle and Zachary; Ryan (Monika) Stroeder; Jennifer (Elise) Stroeder and their child Jude; Kathleen Stroeder and fiancé Eddie Hogg; Nathan (Erica) and Glenn Mitchell; Remington and children Emeline and Sophie; Sterling (Rena) and child Micheal, Michel and Marc Beauchesne and Allan Saunders.  Bobbie also leaves to mourn a sister-in-law Anne Allan of Calgary as well as 2 stepchildren Ken (Vi) Schneider and children Cora (Chris) Putz and children Caitlyn and Carson Putz, Tera (Stephen) Maguire and children Mason and Jimmy; Gordon (Tracey) Schneider and children Matthew (Steffanie) and Jason Schneider. Bobbie was predeceased by her husband: Sam Schneider; her parents: Nelson and Elizabeth Allan, brothers: Gerald (in infancy), JT Allan, Robert Allan, and Nelson Allan; and beloved sister and best friend Geraldine Johnston; sister-in-law Josephine Allan and brother- in-law Gordon Johnston.  The Funeral Mass for Bobbie was held on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lanigan, celebrated by Fr. Greg Smith-Windsor.  Interment followed in the Lanigan Public Cemetery.  Memorial donations in Bobbie’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan or Central Parkland Lodge
