Theodosius "Ted" Senko Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Theodosius “Ted” Senko 90 years of Humboldt announce his passing on Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Humboldt District Hospital. Ted was born on September 8, 1928 to John and Mary (nee Byj) Senko in the Plunkett District.  He attended Badger School, Plunkett School and then he attended St. Joseph’s College in Yorkton.  Due to the premature death of his father Ted returned home to take care of the family farm.  Ted was an exceptional ball player and natural athlete.  Ted’s roots were on the farm and he had a passion for farming.  Soon he met the love of his life Eva Stadnichuk at a dance at St. Mary’s U.C. Church.   On July 14, 1954 Ted and Eva were wed and from this union they were blessed with four children.  They ran a mixed farm and everyone pitched in to make the family farm run smoothly and be successful. Ted was very active with the children and their sports especially the boys hockey and ball.  He would coach the minor leagues and always encouraged his children to follow their dreams.  He spent relaxing time fishing, golfing and hunting.  In 1978 Ted and Eva semiretired and moved to Humboldt where Ted became very involved with bowling, so much so that he went on to the Canadian Nationals.  They enjoyed their lives in Humboldt and continued to play cards with family and friends.  Ted was a regular weekly card player at the Seniors Hall.  If you met Ted anywhere he would always greet you with a welcoming smile and a kind word.  Ted lived his life filled with faith, love and respect for everyone.  Ted’s gentle, patient, kind, and warm personality will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 65 years EVA Senko of Humboldt, 3 children, 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren: Sherry’s family:  Wally (Jan) Hand of Saskatoon and family Alison (Andrew) Scahill of Kingston, ON, Brent (Paula) Hand-Cortez and children Leandro and Eva, and Nolan Hand all of Saskatoon; Myron (Brenda) Senko and family Myron Jr. (Mitchele) Senko and children Mea, Jena, Mikala, Chris Senko and children Joel, Troy and Ashton all of Red Deer, AB, Angela (Phil) Hunt of United Kingdom, Kevin Senko and children Mikala and Jordon of Red Deer, AB, Sabrina Senko and children Braden and Trent of Calgary, AB, Melissa Senko of Vancouver, BC and Rachel Senko of Red Deer, AB;  Barry (Sandi) Senko of Plunkett and family Terrance (Jade) Boland of Calgary and children Finn, Stella and Austen, Adam (Britney) Kostur, Clint Senko and children Chase and Cole, Gina (Matthew) Kuin and son Luca and Evan (Gabrielle Louttit) Senko all of Saskatoon;  Brenda Feuerstein of Eastend and daughter Chandra Schlitz of Ecuador; Sister Alice Germann of Humboldt; members of the Stadnichuk family; numerous nieces and nephews.  A prayer Service was held on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. from Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home Hwy 5 East Humboldt, presided by Fr. Joseph Salihu. A Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Augustine R.C. Church Humboldt, celebrated by Fr.
