It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Alois Anton Felix, 81 years of Bruno, SK, on June 12, 2025, at Bethany Pioneer Village, Middle Lake.
Alois was born on March 30, 1944, to Anton and Maria (nee Steffens) Felix, a twin to Alvin, and one of nine children. Alois was born at home in the Bremen District and attended the Cranich School. He remained at home and worked with his father and brothers helping with the farming. Alois was very talented as a mechanic and could sit and observe and then proceed with fixing almost everything on the family farm. He will definitely be missed as their family mechanic.
Alois enjoyed playing cards and competed at many Kaiser Tournaments around the area. He also enjoyed playing pool, but his #1 love was watching wrestling on TV and anything related to wrestling.
He was very committed to the Catholic Faith and attended Mass regularly. Alois was a very sociable person and loved visiting with people, especially after Mass where he could catch up with all the local people on the weekly news.
The Felix boys were well known for their curling talents so much so that for one winter they built a curling ice on their farm so they could practice. This led to them winning many bonspiels around the area. The highlight of their career was on year Edwin, Leo, Alvin and Alois won 27 out of 28 games.
Due to declining health, Alois spent his last year at Bethany Pioneer Village at Middle Lake.
Alois will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his brothers:
Leo (Linda) Felix of Fort St. John, BC and children Gary, Carmen, Kathy, Mark, and Misty;
Bernie (Sheila) Felix of Lumsden and children Sara, Paul, and Joseph;
and nieces and nephews: Bernard, AnnMarie, Marylou, and Andrew Schulte.
Alois was predeceased by his parents Anton and Maria Felix; brothers and sisters: Fr. Al Felix, Anna (Sebastian) Zimmer, Viola (Leo) Shulte, Alvin Felix, Marion Felix, and Edwin Felix.
A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. from St. Bruno Parish, celebrated by Fr. Pius Schroh. Interment followed at the St. Bruno Cemetery. Memorial donations in Alois’s memory may be directed to Bethany Pioneer Village (Middle Lake) or St. Bruno Cemetery Fund.
