Annie Francis (nee Daniluk), 87 years of Humboldt, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Annie was born at Okla on July 1, 1938, to Denis and Julia (nee Andrejuk) Daniluk. She grew up in the Okla area and attended school there. On October 28, 1955, Annie married Walter Francis of Lintlaw. Together they had and raised four children: Barry, Karen, Calvin, and Sherry. Annie was a true farm wife, looking after the children, the house and the yard. She was an excellent cook and baker and was known for her butter tarts, buns, Welsh cookies and pies. When anyone stopped by, there was always a cup of coffee and some type of homemade goodie to go along with it. She loved gardening, taking pride in her vegetables and flowers, as well as keeping her lawn mowed meticulously. She had a large raspberry patch, which much to her children’s chagrin, they were recruited for picking each summer. Annie was very sociable and outgoing, and loved visiting with people anywhere she went. Along with Walter, they attended all the local dances, gliding along the floor with ease. Annie and Walter were fortunate to enjoy trips to Wales, Scotland and the Maritimes. She was an active member of the ACW at the Anglican Church in Lintlaw for many years and began attending St. Andrew’s Anglican when they moved to Humboldt. She joined Curves, where she worked out to keep active but also to socialize with the other ladies there. She enjoyed the company of their little puppy Riley for many years. Annie was eagerly preparing for a family Christmas and all the festivities when she unexpectedly passed.
Annie will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her three children, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren: Karen (Lee), Calvin (Elaine), Sherry (Vince), daughter-in-law Donna Francis and family Collin Francis (Mackenzie & Logan Francis), and Melanie (Mike) Espeseth (Kaylee & McKenna Espeseth), sister-in-law Irene Daniluk, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Annie was predeceased by her parents Denis and Julia Daniluk; parents-in-law Walter and Lucy Francis; husband A. Walter Francis (2022); son Barry Francis (2012); granddaughter Megan Francis (1999); sisters and brothers-in-law Val (Tony) Vewchar and Helen (John) Slusarchuk; brother Harry Daniluk; and sisters-and-brothers-in-law Phyllis (Stacey) Stein and Violet (Allen) Lindgren.
A Graveside Service will be held at a later date in Lintlaw, SK. Memorial donations in Annie’s memory may be made to the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church (Humboldt) or Humboldt District Health Foundation: St. Elizabeth Ladies Auxiliary Cardiac Endowment Fund.
