The sudden and accidental death of Britney Anne Shaw, age 22, of Lake Lenore, occurred on Sunday, December 26, 2021. Britney was born in Humboldt on June 27, 1999. She grew up in Lake Lenore and attended school there. Following high school, she furthered her education as a Continuing Care Aide. She decided to switch career paths, and because she loved children, she began working at the Humboldt Public School Daycare. She absolutely loved her new career. She was working on attaining her certificate in Early Childhood Education. Britney loved cats and presently had two – Marley and Bella, as well as a guinea pig named Chavis. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her niece and nephew. Britney was a very social person and hanging out with her family and friends was her favorite pastime. She was warm and loving, always the first to give big hugs and to say “I Love You” when she was leaving the house or ending a conversation. She had the best sense of humour and a big, boisterous laugh. Britney was a champion for the underdog and was always encouraging to everyone around her. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her parents Crystal Shaw and Mike Puetz of Lake Lenore; her brother Brandon (Hannah) and their daughter Skylar; her sister Ashley (Shelton) and their son Xzavier; the love of her life, Zane Jordan, all of Lake Lenore; Grandparents: Wayne & Sandy Shaw of Lake Lenore, Gerry & Connie Puetz, and Ducky & Rosemarie Buttinger, all of Humboldt; Aunts, uncles and cousins: Karen (Doug) Voldeng of Naicam, and sons Logan Voldeng and Orrin Voldeng, and their daughter Tianna (Jared) Saretsky and their children Sterling and Danica; Adam (Kim) Shaw of Lake Lenore and son Dylan; Travis (Kayla) Shaw of Bruno and daughters Paige and Trinity; Jared (Renee) Shaw of Rosthern and family Preston, Izzy, Finnley, Hunter, Hayden and Asher; Donna Sayers of Stewiak, NS and family Amanda Meyers (Sheldon) and daughter Jayde, and Josh Meyers (Paxton) and son Edison; Debbie Kunz of Sherwood Park, AB and sons Brandon and Tyler; Donna (Kevin) Kohle of Calgary, AB and family Paige and Levi; Lory (Darren) Haeusler of Humboldt and family Jesse and Taylor; Lynnell (Tim) Crone of Sherwood Park, AB and daughters Haley (Garret) Malishewski, Danielle, and Barb; Marlene (Ryan) Whitehead of Kelowna, BC and sons Luke and Hunter; Leah (Roger) Schlitz of Humboldt and daughters Stevie, Robynn and Jordyn. Britney was predeceased by her great grandparents Philip and Mary Crook and Geraldine Nelson, and by some close friends who were also taken too soon. Her beloved cat Lahey left this world before her, and we just know he was there to jump into her arms and greet her when she arrived in heaven.
The Funeral Service for Britney was held on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Lake Lenore, celebrated by Fr. Prosper Abotsi. Memorial Donations in Britney’s memory may be directed to Humboldt District Hospital Foundation, Mental Health & Addictions Fund.
