Charles Lloyd Gowen was born on December 3, 1928 to Shirley and Tilda Gowen on the family farm three miles south of Elfros. He passed away on December 31, 2025.
He did many things throughout his lifetime, such as going to Ontario in the 40’s to work in the bush camps, and then joining the Navy in the 50’s and becoming a Korean War Veteran. Upon his return he worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Department of Highways and then the City of Saskatoon engineering department. His retirement brought him a new passion – that of woodworking. Many pieces of beautiful furniture adorn his family and friend’s homes. He loved to golf in the summer and ice fish in the winter. In the fall he liked to watch the harvest and help if he could. Charlie married Elsie Malinoski and they had two daughters, Arlene and Gail, who in turn had five children and five grandchildren. Left to mourn Charlie are his wife Elsie; daughter Arlene (Russell) and her children Lindsey and Lloyd (Alisha) and grandchildren, (step-daughter Danielle, sons Spencer and Emmett); daughter Gail and her children Danielle (Brian), Vance (Ada) and Cheryl (Cody) and grandchildren (Cassius and Cecelia). He was predeceased by his parents Shirley and Tilda Gowen and siblings: Shirley (John), Stella (Allan), Patrick (Jean), Robert (Bertha) and Inga (Ed). At Charlie’s request, a funeral service will not be held.
