Christopher Howard Vincent Christopherson

Wiith a heavy heart we announce the passin’ of Mr. Christopher Howard Vincent Christopherson, aged 81, of Lanigan, Saskatchewan, who set sail into the great unknown on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.

Chris was born on September 12, 1943, in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan, to Clifford and Selma (née Hanson) Christopherson. He grew up in Weldon, Saskatchewan attendin’ school there, then made his way to Wainwright, Alberta, to finish his learnin’.

On May 26, 1967, Chris tied the knot with Judy Blockberger in Thompson, Manitoba. They sailed ‘cross many a port in their time before droppin’ anchor in Lanigan in 1980. There, Chris worked as a Purchasing Agent for Potash Corporation ‘til he retired in 2006. He and Judy stayed steady in Lanigan, enjoyin’ the calm seas of retirement together.

Chris had a love fer the wild outdoors and a deep passion fer the northern lands of Saskatchewan, huntin’ and fishin’ with his mates over the years. He also had a fine ear for music and a talent fer writin’, both of which brought him joy and a sense of contentment on his journey.

Chris shall be remembered with love by his wife of 57 years, Judy Christopherson. He is survived by his son, Adam (Melissa) Christopherson, and their crew: Sean (Lizann) Bougie and their daughter, Aeria; Meagan Bougie and her crew, Codie, Kendra, and Shelby; and Phawn Bougie and her crew, Lexie, Andre, Logan, and Natalia. His daughter, Cathy (Kevin) Root, and their crew, Daniel, Chelsea, and Shayla; as well his daughter, Jody (Ahmed) Nour, and their crew, Savannah, Sierra, Summer, Jasper, Cayden, Chase and his family, also carry his memory. Chris will be remembered fondly by his sister, Sandra Yakimowich; his sister-in-law Myrna and family; his sister-in-law Lynne and family; and his faithful dog, Charlie, along with many other kin and trusty mates.

Chris was predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Selma Christopherson; his brother, Roy Vern Christopherson; and his granddaughter, Justina Grace Crawford.

Chris was a loyal companion, true friend, mentor and above all a great human being, and will be missed by all that were lucky enough to be part of his life.
