Clara Lemmerich Obituary

It is with very saddened hearts that the family announces the passing of Clara Wilhelmina (nee Thole) Lemmerich, 90 years, at her residence, Quill Plains Centennial Lodge in Watson on Monday, June 14, 2021.

Clara was born on November 18, 1930, to Henry and Josephine (nee Böckmann) on the farm in the St. Gregor District.

She went to school in St. Gregor until grade five, then moved to LeRoy to finish grade school in a small country school there.

At a young age Clara started working for different farmers looking after small children, domestic duties, gardening and chores on the farm.

In 1950 she met her husband Henry Lemmerich and they were wed on November 20, 1951 at St. Gregory R.C. Church in St. Gregor.

They went to live on the Lemmerich farm at Humboldt and ran a mixed farm.  They were blessed with four sons.

Some of Clara’s hobbies included quilting, crocheting, and bowling.   She thoroughly enjoyed her summertime in the garden which led to canning and baking.  Clara loved to share her delicious dishes with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She had a few fun casino trips with her friends.  But watching the Toronto Blue Jays was the highlight of her life, she seldom missed a game on T.V.

In the fall of 1994 Clara and Henry semi retired to Humboldt but still helped on the farm when they could.

Clara will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three sons, three grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren: LORNE (Elizabeth) Lemmerich and family Cory (Rachelle) Lemmerich and children Karlee, Mikayla and Kaden; Sara (Craig) Pierrard and children Sydney, Hunter, Charley and Caitlin, all of Humboldt, and Riley of Edmonton, AB; and Crystal (Kevin) Schuweiler and children Alexis, Brooke and Logan of Assiniboia; JERRY Lemmerich and MICHAEL Lemmerich both of Humboldt; two sisters Liz Harpauer  and Josephine Crone both of Humboldt; brother Joseph Thole of Saskatoon; sister-in-law Kathleen Kohle of Saskatoon; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Clara was predeceased by her parents: Henry and Josephine Thole; son Gordon Lemmerich (1975); husband Henry Lemmerich (2010); sisters and brother: Martha (Lawrence) Dunne, Mary (Charles) Dunne and Henry (Evelyn) Thole; brothers-in-law: John Harpauer, Paul Crone, and sister-in-law Sandra Thole.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Quill Plains Centennial Lodge for the excellent care and attention Clara received while living there, she absolutely loved her stay there.  From the bottom of our hearts Thank You all.

A Private Family Service was held at Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home & Crematorium, Humboldt, on Friday, June 19, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Prosper Abotsi.  Interment followed at St. Augustine R.C. Cemetery. Memorial donations in Clara's memory may be directed to Humboldt & District Hospital Foundation.

It takes a mother’s love to make a house a home.

A place to be remembered no matter where we roam…

It takes a mother’s patience to bring a child up right

And her courage and her cheerfulness to make a dark day bright…

It takes a mother’s thoughtfulness to mend the heart’s deep hurts

And her skill and her endurance to mend little socks and shirts…

It takes a mother’s wisdom to recognize our needs

And to give us reassurance by her loving words and deeds…

And that is why in all this world there could not be another

Who could fulfill God’s purposes as completely as a mother!
