Constance "Connie" Johnson Obituary

Although we are so very sad to say goodbye, Connie died after a life well-lived. She died peacefully at her home on October 2, 2023, in her 80th year.

Connie was born in LeRoy, Saskatchewan, and raised on the family farm; however, she dreamed of life in the city. After attending business college in Regina and working for SaskTel in Saskatoon before moving to Kingston, Ontario in 1966 where she had a long varied career at Bell Canada. After only a few years of retirement, Connie was ready for the next challenge - at age 65 she went back to work for another 7 years with Assante Wealth Management as an Administrative Assistant. She took up cycling in her early 60’s and only gave it up 2 1/2 years ago after her most recent diagnosis of breast cancer. To the very end, she believed in the lesson our Mum taught us: get up, get dressed, and you will feel better!

Connie was an independent, determined women who had a wide social circle, but she also enjoyed her solitude reading a great book that transported her to many far away places. She loved music and dance parties, live music concerts, and theatre along with great food. You would often find her lunching at Chez Piggy with family, friends or solo. She enjoyed many wonderful trips with her sisters, nieces, and friends. Some highlights include hiking in Tuscany, cycling in the Netherlands, cooking classes in Toulouse, and many visits to New York City. Above all else that brought her joy, she said meeting Ross and spending 50+ years together were the most cherished times. She and Ross had many years of fun on Treasure Island, entertaining & socializing with lifelong friends.

Connie was predeceased by her love, Ross Aylesworth, her parents Gus & Evelyn Johnson and her beloved sister Dori. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Darlene (Jerry) McGrath family, Trina McGrath (Alex Roach), Jami Dietrich (Shawn), Jay McGrath (Brucie) Donna Johnson (Shayne Dark), Dori (Alan) Thompson family, Sarah Thompson (Lewis), Erica Thompson (Sean) and Robert Thompson. She will also be missed by Marc Aylesworth (Amanda), Olivia Aylesworth (Reid) and Hilary Aylesworth (Dylan).
