David Niels Baldwin Johnson, 73 years, of the Foam Lake district passed away with family by his side on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. David was born on June 17, 1948 in Vancouver, BC to Walter and Tove (nee Pederson) Johnson. The family moved to Leslie, SK where he was raised on the family farm, attending Westside School and then taking his high school in Foam Lake. David moved to Thompson, MB where he worked at the INCO mine. While in Thompson, he met Connie Frankard, who was a nurse there. David and Connie were married on March 2, 1974. In 1981, they returned to the Leslie area where he started farming and continued to do so until the present. Throughout the years, he was very involved in his children’s activities and once grandchildren joined the family, he loved spending time with them and was always teaching them new things. David and Connie were able to do some traveling over the years and always had lots of fun together. David will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 47 years, Connie Johnson of Foam Lake; their three children and four grandchildren: Arndis Johnson of Toronto, ON; Shauna Cote of Lake Louise, AB and children Emma and Kaleb; and Aaron (Kimberli) Johnson of Sundre, AB and children Paige and Brody; his two sisters: Bev (Glen) Arnason and Diane (Larry) Wetzel, all of Foam Lake and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Tove Johnson. A Come & Go Fellowship & Luncheon was held at the Foam Lake Royal Canadian Legion Hall on Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations in David's memory may be directed to the Cancer Patient Lodge (#506-625 25th Street East, Saskatoon SK, S7K 8J1).
