It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Fred Prokopishin announces his sudden passing on Thursday January 23, 2020 at the age of 80. Fred will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Elaine and his children, Karen and Krista (Rene) and two grandchildren, Katelyn and Alexa. Fred was born February 6, 1939 in Winthrop, SK to Nicholas and Mary Prokopishin. He was one of seven children, survived by Bill and Olga and predeceased by Anne, Harold, Andy, and George.
In 1965, he began his dental career in Canora, SK subsequently moving to Humboldt, SK to practice with his brother Bill. Fred practiced with his soft touch and personal approach for forty-eight years. He served in various capacities as a volunteer for Ducks Unlimited Canada and was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer. Above all, he loved winning at cribbage with his wife (especially if he could skunk her without cheating) and he was always so proud of his children and his grandchildren’s accomplishments.
A small family service will be held in the future.
