The death of Duane Peter Jerome Wegleitner, 73 years, of Humboldt occurred on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Humboldt District Hospital. Duane was born on June 6, 1947 to Joseph and Dorothy (nee Bregenser) Wegleitner at Pilger. He grew up and attended school in the Pilger area. On July 1, 1968 Duane married Judy Johns. He was a long time business owner, operating the IGA in Meadow Lake and then in Humboldt. Following his retirement from the grocery business, he kept busy working for Stomp Pork Farms and Olymel. Duane will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 52 years, Judy Wegleitner of Humboldt; their daughter Darcy (Steve) Puetz and children Zade and Quinn, all of Humboldt; his parents Joseph and Dorothy Wegleitner of Calgary, AB; siblings: Roger (Glenda) Wegleitner of Prince Albert; and Donna Mae (Cal) Bartole, Garry (Christine) Wegleitner, and Kevin Wegleitner, all of Calgary; Judy’s family: June (Bob) Mantie of Baldwinton, Yvonne Johns of Prince George, BC, Ruth Domes of Battleford, Bob (Sharon) Johns of Saskatoon, and Peggie Mantie of Battleford; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Duane was predeceased by his parents-in-law Victor and Mary Johns; and brothers-in-law: Richard Johns, Richard Domes and Doug Mantie. Due to Covid, a Private Family Service was held for Duane. Memorial Donations in Duane’s memory may be made to Children’s Wish Foundation.
