Evelyn Margaret (Knudsen) Dreher

Evelyn Margaret (Knudsen) Dreher was born on June 27, 1937 on her family’s farm near Coronach, SK to Frances and Alfred Knudsen. She was the eighth of ten children. Her early years were spent on the farm. She moved to Regina at 17 years old and worked as a proud and pioneering SaskTel operator.  She married Wendell John Dreher in 1957 and they had six children by her 29th year.

Evelyn was sweetness and light to all who knew her. She passed away on August 22, 2023, at Central Parkland Lodge in Lanigan. She is survived by her devoted husband, Wendell, and her children Linda Maddaford (Farley), Timothy (Michele), Celeste Oldach (Klaus), Christopher, and Virginia Oldach (Arno). She was predeceased by her daughter Leta, May 1, 2008. She will be mourned by her grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Ben, Sam, Lindsay, Jon, Mikayla, Kyle, Joshua and Jacob, their partners, the great-grandchildren, and her loving and large extended family.

The Funeral Mass for Evelyn was held Monday, August 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 41 Shannon Street, Lanigan, celebrated by Fr. Augustine Osei-Bonsu, with a reception in the parish lower hall. Interment followed at 4:00 pm in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina.
