The peaceful passing of Frances Janie Weisgerber (nee Roraff), 96 years, of Humboldt and formerly of LeRoy occurred on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Frances was born on June 14, 1929 in the Sinnett area to August and Juanita Mae (nee Hannah) Roraff. She grew up on the family farm, receiving her education in LeRoy. On August 11, 1947, she married her beloved husband, Tom, beginning a life together full of love, family, and hard work. Together they built a life through their years on the Weisgerber farm, where they raised their family of five children. Tom was a grain buyer for Pioneer in Bremen and Brooksby for a period of three years and then also worked at Prairie Fiberboard in Saskatoon for a year. They returned to LeRoy where they owned a café for a short while and then returned to farming. In 2003, they moved to Humboldt. Tom passed away in 2007 and then in 2010, Frances moved in with her daughter Nada and her husband Cliff, where she remained until her passing. Frances was known for her nurturing spirit and strong work ethic. In addition to caring for her home and family, she also worked driving school bus and helping wherever needed. She was especially known for her baking, her pies and cakes were enjoyed by many and made every gathering special. Frances had a deep love for crafting and creativity. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading, and playing cards—rarely without something in her hands. She lovingly created 300 plus items for the “Guardian Angels” each year and took pride in sharing and selling her handmade items at local craft shows. Frances will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her five children, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren:
Randy (Jeannie) Weisgerber of Saskatoon and family John Weisgerber of Drumheller, AB and Eric (Corine) Weisgerber and her daughter Fiona of Aberdeen, SK;
Cheryl (Murray) Davidson of Invermere, BC and family Graem (Alyson) Sinclair and children Hailey and Nate of Marshall, SK;
Nada (Cliff) McAvany of Humboldt;
Brent (Laura) Weisgerber of Cheywynd, BC and family Dennis Weisgerber (Ashton Thomson) of Kamloops, BC and Daniel Weisgerber of Chetwynd, BC;
Kirby Weisgerber (Joanne Clouthier) of Chetwynd, BC and family Ashlee (CJ) Scheller and their children Kadence, Dean and Jamie of Grand Prairie, AB and Gage Weisgerber of Edmonton, AB.
Frances is also survived by her sister, Bev Dyok of Wadena, numerous nieces and nephews, and members of the Weisgerber family; as well as her special friend Germaine Gobert and her family, who loved “Grandma Frances” as their family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Tom; her parents August and Juanita Roraff; and her sister Amy (Mel) Molle; and members of the Weisgerber family.
Frances will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, dedication to her family, and the warmth she brought to those around her. She will be missed and forever cherished.
A Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Memorial Donations in Frances’ memory may be directed to Humboldt & Area Guardian Angels Box 2967 Humboldt, SK S0K 2A0 (Josie 306-682-2557).
