Frederick Quesnel Obituary

Fred was born on September 25, 1960, to Leo and Jean (nee Miller) Quesnel in Sault Ste. Marie, ON.  He was one of a family of 10, where the boys outnumbered the girls by far. He obtained all of his education in Ontario and later moved to Saskatchewan in his early 20’s. Later in life he began working at Standard Construction in Humboldt where he met Lori Thompson, and in 1998 their daughter Jasmine was born. During her pregnancy Fred was very attentive to Lori’s needs, especially her cravings. Fred was so proud to become a father that the moment he got the news, he changed his entire lifestyle in preparation for the arrival of his baby girl. After Jasmine was born, Fred shared that her birth was the best thing that had ever happened to him, she was his pride and joy. Fred loved his old Chevy truck, eagles and listening to old school rock ‘n roll. He loved to joke around and had the best smile and laugh. Fred was very intelligent, incredibly funny and hardworking, when he was able. Due to various reasons and life challenges, Fred struggled to have continual employment. He loved his family and was very supportive and proud of Jasmine and her accomplishments. The day he became a grandpa to Aiden brought him much happiness. Fred always stayed connected to his siblings regularly even if they lived a distance. To his nieces and nephews he was known as “Uncle Ferdy”. To many of his friends Fred was known as Fredrock. He enjoyed having coffee with his friends every morning at the Windsor and he would be down first thing in the morning to make the pot of coffee.  Fred will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his daughter Jasmine and her son Aiden of Humboldt; the mother of his daughter Lori Thompson, his family, friends and all who knew him. Fred is survived by his siblings Joe (Hilka) Quesnelle of Schreiber, ON; Sharon (Darren) Mock of Leask, SK; Garry (Marlene) Quesnel of Port Alberni, BC; Linda (Gerald) Landriault of Terrace Bay, ON; Paul (Rose) Quesnel of Sault Ste. Marie, ON; Rene Quesnel of Sault Ste. Marie, ON; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his parents Leo and Jean Quesnel, two infant sisters, one infant brother, and his nephew Juan Quesnel.  A Funeral Service for Frederick was held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, led by Jenny Irwin. Internment took place on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Humboldt Public Cemetery.
