It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Gerald Joseph Stauber, 88 years, formerly of Pilger, Humboldt, and just recently Birch Manor in Middle Lake, SK, on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Humboldt District Hospital, with family by his side.
Gerald was born May 24, 1937 to Frank and Annie (Schwingenschloegl) Stauber on the family farm near Pilger, SK. His education was obtained at St. Bernard’s in a one room school up to grade 8. Growing up on the farm, his calling stayed close to home. He took over the family farm near Pilger. On July 2, 1966, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Hilbert. Together they raised their 3 children: Rhonda, Maureen, and Kevin.
Gerald will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy; daughter Rhonda (Myles) Hemm and their children Tyler (Vicky) Hemm and baby Ruby and Jessica (Steve) Gerla and baby Aubree; daughter Maureen (Arnold) Venne and their children Corey Venne and Dillon Venne; and son Kevin Stauber and his son Joseph Stauber and step-daughter Jayde Howdle. He is also survived by his brother David (Judy) Stauber, sister Colleen (Steve) Harris, brother-in-law Donald (Kathy) Hilbert, and many nieces and nephews.
Gerald was predeceased by his parents Frank and Annie Stauber, his brother Fr. Bernard Stauber, and his parents-in-law John and Agnes Hilbert.
A Private Family Service was held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home & Crematorium, celebrated by Fr. Colin Roy. Interment will take place at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Pilger, SK, at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Gerald can be directed to St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
