Harold Keith McHarg, 91 years, of St. Mary’s Villa, Humboldt passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Keith as he was better known, was born on November 16, 1933 at home in the Watson district, the youngest child of Albert and Hannah (nee Wallace) McHarg. When he was very young, the family moved to a farm near Clair and he attended Park Villa School. Following his education, Keith began farming, while also working away in the winters in Calgary at a feed mill. On October 20, 1962 he married Jean Lysyshyn. The couple farmed 10 miles north of Clair, spending three winters in Winnipeg where Keith worked for Eastern Sales. As a young man, Keith enjoyed playing softball and he and Jean spent many winters curling. He also enjoyed watching hockey and football on TV. Keith loved to socialize with friends. He and Jean made several bus trips to Branson, Missouri over the years. In 2014, they moved to Humboldt where they became regulars on coffee row, making new friends along the way. With declining health, Keith moved to St. Mary’s Villa in 2021 where Jean visited him every day. The enjoyed a celebration of their 62 years of marriage this past October. Keith will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Jean McHarg of Humboldt and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Hannah McHarg and all of his siblings: Clarence “Buster”, Mary, Eileen, Allan, Wilbert, Orla, Laura and Laverne. A Funeral Service for Keith was held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home & Crematorium, officiated by Pastor Sean Brandow. Interment took place on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Quill Lake Cemetery, with officiant Pastor Bill Dyck. A time of fellowship followed at the Quill Lake Senior Center. Memorial Donations in memory of Keith may be made to St. Mary’s Villa Foundation or Humboldt District Hospital Foundation (General Fund).
