It is with great sadness that the family of John Kral announces his passing on November 25, 2023 at Humboldt District Hospital.
John was born to John Sr. and Zuzanna (nee Simkova) Kral on February 1,1942. John was born and raised on the family farm in the Beiberdorf school district.
John attended school at Beiberdorf. After his school days, John continued to help out in the summers at the family farm and went to Saskatoon in the winter where he worked as a salesman and a drywaller. It did not take John long to figure out city life was not for him, shortly after John purchased some cattle and began mixed farming.
In 1960, John met the love of his life, Elaine Nickel. They married on August 15, 1964. John and Elaine lived on the original family farm and raised 3 children together, Darcy, Sharleen and Sandra. John and Elaine moved into the village of Jansen around 1992 and their son continued on farming at the family farm.
John spent countless hours in his garage doing wood working, John built many items for many friends and family and Elaine would paint them. John loved to surround himself with family and friends hosting wiener roasts in their backyard or playing cards at their kitchen table. John was always up for anything, his grandkids have many fond memories with him getting his hair done by Ashley, countless hunting and fishing trips with Taylor, and helping Jaylan try to build things out of scrap wood and shelling peas. No one could quite put a smile on John’s face the way his great grandkids could; Kyra, Paisley and Rylee held a special spot in his heart and they all had an impeccable bond. He will always be remembered as GG and was the most patient, loving, and caring man.
The deep love John had for his community, friends, and family never went unnoticed.
John will be lovingly remembered by his 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters:
Sharleen Dunne and her children: Taylor (Lisa) Dunne and their daughter Rylee; Jaylan (Jeremy) Umpherville and their daughters Kyra and Paisley;
Sandra Ecker (Rodger Backes) and her daughter: Ashley Ecker (Keenan Sheperd-Nokahoot).
John is also survived by his sister Susie Kokos of Portage La Prairie, MB; and numerous nieces, nephews, and members of the Nickel family.
John was predeceased by his parents John and Zuzanna Kral, his wife Elaine Kral, his son Darcy Kral, his great granddaughter Brynlee Dunne, his sister Mary (Emil) Brehm, and his brother-in-law, Mike Kokos.
