Josephine Krueger Obituary

Josephine Mary Krueger (nee Bourauel) passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024. Josephine was born on August 15, 1931, at her family home in Bruno, SK to Peter and Susan (Kisling) Bourauel. She completed her grade 8 at Bruno School and grade 9-12 at St. Ursula Academy in Bruno. She then attended St. Elizabeth's Hospital School of Nursing where she received her Graduate Nursing Diploma in August 1952. Josephine continued to work in nursing for the next 17 years in various places in Saskatchewan. While nursing in Goodsoil, SK at the local hospital, Josephine met John Krueger and they were married on February 20, 1957 in Bruno, SK. Josephine and John owned the Cockshutt Dealership and then White Farm Equipment in LeRoy, then in Humboldt, where she was the best parts person. When Josephine was a young girl, she played piano and was a competitive softball player. Later in life, she switched sports and was an avid curler. Josephine and John also started farming together when they moved to Humboldt in 1965. As a couple, they enjoyed vacationing south in the winter and camping in the summer. Josephine also enjoyed volunteering in the community, watching sports, playing cards, knitting, watching her kids’ activities, and baking. Josephine’s greatest joy was her family.

Josephine will be lovingly remembered by her husband John Krueger; her children – Laura (Kim) Jurgens, Linda (Rod Francis) Kloschinsky, Dianne Schwark, Steven Krueger, Beverly (Douglas) Kaip, and Sarah (Steven) Wilson; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters – Sr. Susan (Laura), Susan (Larry) Tetzlaff, Patricia Pfeil, and Mary Kelly.  Josephine was predeceased by her parents Peter and Susan Bourauel, sister Margie Bornhorst, and in-laws Wilbur Pfeil, Carl Bornhorst, and Warren Kelly.

A Family Service was held with interment in St. Augustine Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan.
