Kathleen Loos Obituary

The family is very saddened to announce the passing of Kathleen (nee Friesen) Loos, 65 years, of Humboldt on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Humboldt District Hospital.  Kathleen was born in Altona, MB to Henry and Anna (nee Froese) Friesen on September 30, 1956.  Her family later moved to Yorkton where she  obtained all her education.  This is where she met the love of her life Brian Loos and they were married on May 21, 1977 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorkton.  They had two children: Melissa and Michael.  Kathleen was employed as an administrative assistant in the insurance adjusting field over 20 years.  She was an avid reader.  Kathleen enjoyed gardening, especially flowers as she loved flowers of all kinds.  She will also be remembered for her delicious desserts that she made in abundance, but never ate them herself!  Other hobbies included sewing and quilting.  Kathleen was a great supporter of her children and their activities, being present at almost every event they were in.  Brian’s employment took them to Neepawa, MB and then later to Humboldt where they resided until her passing.  If you asked Kathleen what made her the happiest her answer would be – spending time with her grandchildren.  She really loved playing games with them.  Kathleen loved all children in general, but her family was always #1.   Kathleen will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 44 years Brian Loos of Humboldt; daughter Melissa Loos (Ward Wurtz) and their son JohnHenry; and son Michael (Amber) Loos and daughters Ruby and Amelia, all of Saskatoon; nieces and nephews: John’s children: Les (Rhonda), Beverley and Jennifer (Rob) and their families;  Dorothy’s children: Robert, Blaine (Jen) and Rodney (Stacey) and their families; and Edna’s family: Deanna (Brent), Dean (Heidi), David and Debbie and their families; and brothers-and-sisters-in-law: Francis Loos of Regina, Margaret (Terry) Minter of  Tisdale, Tony (Gail) Loos of Medicine Hat, AB., Ken Loos of Spring Valley, SK and Tim (Diane) Loos of Moose Jaw.  Kathleen was predeceased by her parents Henry and Anna Friesen; parents-in-law Helen and Ben Loos; brothers and sisters: John (Betty) Friesen, Dorothy Richards, Edna (Dennis) Assman and her twin Kenneth Friesen; and great nephew, Jesse.  The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church (73 Smith Street East) Yorkton. Interment followed at Yorkton City Cemetery.  Memorial donations in Kathleen’s memory may be directed to Humboldt District Hospital Foundation or Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.
