Kenneth Donald Burg

His family is saddened to announce the death of Kenneth Donald Burg, 80 years old, of Spalding, on Monday, June 9, 2025. Ken was born on June 4, 1945, in Bruno, Saskatchewan to Olga and Anthony Burg. He lived in and around the Spalding area his whole life. Ken took on many different occupational challenges including semi-driver, miner, house mover, and gravel truck driver; however, the bulk of his career was working at the Co-op Store in Spalding and farming. On May 1, 1971, Ken married Linda Birmingham. They lived the bulk of their lives on a farm near Spalding and raised their children. Ken and Linda were married for 48 years prior to Linda’s passing in 2019. Ken enjoyed the outdoors, spending many years with his family at the cabin at Marean Lake. He has spent countless hours fishing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling with his family and friends.               

Ken will be lovingly remembered by his three son’s, two daughters-in-law and 4 grandchildren: Darrell Burg of Tisdale; Ryan and Nancy Burg and sons Anthony, Damon, and Jude of Edmonton; Aaron and Amanda Burg and their daughter Chloe of Winnipeg; and three sisters Noreen Strand, Audrey Spizawka (Orest), and Caroline Pappenfus (Harold). Ken was predeceased by his wife Linda; his parents Anthony and Olga Burg; his brother Delmer Burg; and his son Anthony, in infancy.

A Graveside Funeral Service was held at the Dovre Lutheran Cemetery in the Spalding District, SK, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Amos Mushendwa, followed by a Come and Go Tea at the Spalding Community Hall from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.. Memorial donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan.
