Larry Weiman Obituary

The Weiman family sadly announces the death of their husband, father, grandfather, Larry Weiman, 73 years of Bruno, SK, on Sunday, February 12, 2023.

Larry was born on April 29, 1949 to Anthony and Florence (nee Honish) Weiman. Born and raised in Bruno, SK, he attended the local school. At the age of 16, Larry went to Edmonton to work on the seismic riggs. On July 3, 1971, he married the love of his life, Janet Klimosko, in Humboldt. They were blessed with four children. Returning to his roots, they moved back to Bruno where they continued grain farming. During the same time, he worked at Hillcrest Farms as a truck driver until he retired in 1996 to further focus and grow the grain farm operation. Larry would often go on long haul trips with his friend Myles to pick up vegetables from California.

Larry was always a hard worker and kept very busy, and always made time to be part of his children’s, and eventually grandchildren’s, lives. He coached his sons’ hockey and enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as collecting things, with great interest in antique farm toys and coins. Larry loved to travel, and he and Janet were able to vacation together to Jamaica, Mexico, Arizona, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, and numerous times to Las Vegas. He loved to visit and spend time with those he loved.

Larry will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife Janet Weiman of Bruno; 4 children and 7 grandchildren: Robert (Laurie) Weiman and children Nathan and Olivia of Regina: Ryan (Amy) Weiman  and daughters Jessica and Alyssa of Martensville: Janelle (Rob) Lawrence and children Colten, Levi, and Skylar of Bruno: and Michael (Regan) Weiman of Warman. He is also survived by his siblings: Kenneth (Melva) Weiman of Bruno, Helen Kachur of Saskatoon, Eileen (Bob) Carlson of Bruno, Sharon (Lorne) Kachur of Marshall, SK, and Jane (Tony) Preston of Charlottetown, PEI; mother-in-law Natalie Klimosko of Humboldt and members of the Klimosko family; and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Florence Weiman, brother Harold Weiman, father-in-law Alex Klimosko, and sisters-in-law Phyllis Kurysh and Elaine Malo.

A Funeral Mass for Larry was held on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. from St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church, Bruno, SK, celebrated by Fr. Pius Schroh.
