Lynne McIntosh Obituary

Lynne McIntosh passed away with her sister, Maureen, at her side at the Palliative Care Unit, Pasqua Hospital; Regina, Saskatchewan. Lynne fought a very brave & courageous battle with cancer.

Lynne was born at LeRoy, Saskatchewan. She was the eldest of six siblings, raised on the family farm. Although no formal education due to an intellectual disability, Lynne learned many things and was always eager to lend a helping hand especially drying dishes. She thrived at Futuristic Industries in Humboldt always wanting to “go to work”. Lynne enjoyed lunches out with Maureen & Dennis and always had to be “chickie”, so off to KFC we would go. Dairy Queen was always a treat too.

Trips to the salon for haircuts & manicures, bowling, the swimming pool and trips to the library with Noreen “aka Doreen to Lynne” were special times. One of her more recent activities was Music Club @ Futuristic. Christmas was always a good time with Santa, gifts, treats and of course turkey and all the trimmings! Lynne loved the music of Daniel O’Donnell and it played daily in her room on palliative. Just a few days prior to her death, she was singing along with Daniel’s “Mary Lou“.

She was predeceased by her parents Helen Jean McIntosh (1996) and Arthur James McIntosh (2014), as well as her cousin Marvin Volden and all aunts & uncles. Lynne is survived by her siblings Maureen Wentz (Dennis Mennie); Glenn McIntosh (Sylvia Schultz); Sharon McIntosh; Don McIntosh (Judy Duncan) & Doug McIntosh (Hye-Kyung Moon). Lynne is also survived by many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews as well as many cousins. She is also survived by her Futuristic Industries family, clients & staff. You were all very special to Lynne. Thank you!

Special thanks to the doctors & nurses at Humboldt District Hospital, Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon; St. Paul’s Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, Saskatoon; and Palliative Care, Pasqua Hospital, Regina.

A Memorial Service was held at Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, August 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m, led by Bev Trach. Interment followed at Humboldt Public Cemetery Columbarium. If you so desire, memorial donations can be made to Futuristic Industries, Box 340, Humboldt, Sask, SOK 2A0 or to the Palliative Care Unit, Pasqua Hospital c/o Hospitals of Regina Foundation Suite 225, 1874 Scarth St. Regina, Sask.
