October 6, 1923 ~ June 12, 2023 (age 99) 99 Years Old

Obituary

Mary was born on October 6, 1923 to Gregory “Harry” and Julia Krysa, at Fraserwood, Manitoba. At the age of three, the family moved to the Wolverine district until 1943. That same year, she met the love of her life, Leon Bay, and they were married on November 21, 1943. Together they lived on the farm, where they raised their four children, Eunice, Ted, Leona, and Greg. Then in 1963, they moved to Humboldt.

Throughout her life, Mary always kept busy. While attending school, she worked at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Humboldt as a nursing assistant. She also worked with home care and as a cashier for Service Foods, R&J, and Bloskie Grocery. Mary was known for her excellent cooking and relatives always stopped by for the good food and hospitality. She was fortunate to publish a cookbook with all her favourite recipes as well. Besides cooking and spending time with the family, Mary enjoyed taking care of the flowers and vegetable garden, where she would spend endless hours.

Mary will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren: EUNICE and her family: Lyle (Sandi) and their children Amanda (Jason) and Cory; TED and his family: Jesse (Mildred) and their children Olivia, Timothy, Matilda: Jackie (Mike) and their daughter Aidra; LEONA (Lorne) and her family: Aaron (Stephanie) and children Hannah, Ryleigh, and Reagan: Ryan (Gail) and their sons Tyler and Ryder: Shauna: and Ambrose; GREG (Brenda) and his family: Colby (Kim) and daughters Ava and Emily: Shawn (Mary); and Andrew (Jade). Mary was predeceased by her husband Leon Bay, parents Harry and Julia Krysa, brother Mike Krysa, daughter-in-law Joyce Bay, grandson Jason Keller, granddaughter Trina Karlash, and great granddaughter Lucy Bay.
