It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mathew Lotzien.
Mathew is lovingly remembered by his mother Tammy Picard (Derrick Robson), his father Gregory Lotzien, his brother Daniel Lotzien, his sister Niomy Lotzien (Brayden Koch), his daughter Misha Lotzien (Christelle Gionet) and many extended family members and friends whose lives he touched. He is also survived by his beloved dog Paul, who brought him so much joy.
Mathew was known for his kind heart and for being the most helpful person - he would drop everything to help someone in need. He had an incredible sense of humour and a way of making people laugh, often the funniest person in the room. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, his presence, and the moments of laughter he brought into their lives.
He loved taking pictures of nature, particularly sunsets and sunrises, and he collected rocks as a cherished hobby. He felt truly free when riding his motorcycle, embracing the open road and the beauty around him. Mathew’s passion for life and his generous spirit will live on in the memories of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Mathew’s memory can be directed to the Humboldt District Health Foundation: Mental Health and Addiction Fund (Box 1740, Humboldt, SK, S0K 2A0).
