Monika Laskowski

Monika was born on March 11, 1941, in Stein am Kocher, Germany. At the age of 15, she came to Canada to start a new life. She worked for many years in the kitchen at the RCMP in Regina. That was where she met the love of her life, Horst Laskowski. He was the Yogi Bear to her Boo Boo Bear. They married in 1966, and they moved to Allan, SK, to start their married life together. Even after Horst’s passing in 2020, Monika wanted to stay in Allan, but declining health moved her to Humboldt, SK for the last six months. Yogi and Boo Boo are together once more.     

Monika will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children Corina (Stan) Holmes, Angela (Roger) LaRochelle, and Robin (Anita) Laskowski; her grandchildren Jason (Meghan) LaRochelle, Kelsey (Ian) Johnson, Ethan and Matthew Laskowski; and her great grandchildren Owen and Connor Johnson.

A Graveside Service was held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Aloysius R.C. Cemetery, Allan, SK, led by Deacon Jack Robson. A Come & Go Celebration of Life for Monika was held at 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Parkland Hall, Allan, SK. Memorial donations in Monika’s memory may be directed to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
