Natalie Klimosko Obituary

The peaceful death of Natalie Klimosko (nee Sorochan), 97 years of St. Mary’s Villa, Humboldt occurred on Monday, June 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  Natalie was born February 6, 1928 in West Bend, SK.  She was the third child born to Mary and John Sorochan.  She grew up on a farm and attended school until Grade 8.  As a young woman, she and her sister Anne went to Toronto to find employment.  She returned to Saskatchewan to marry the love of her life, Alex Klimosko on October 9, 1948.  They farmed the family homestead and were blessed with nine children.  Alex and Natalie moved to Humboldt in 1966 where Natalie worked as a care aide at the hospital.  Her mothering skills earned her a position on the children’s ward.  Eventually she moved to house keeping for a few years before taking a job in house keeping at St. Mary’s Villa, where she retired in 1988.  Natalie enjoyed golf, playing cards of all kinds, and bowling.  She was active in the Senior’s Club and regularly attended her grandchildren’s sports events.  She loved cooking and baking her children and grandchildren’s favorites, especially for Christmas and Easter.  Natalie always arranged for Santa to arrive at the house after Christmas Eve supper to give the grandchildren their presents.  It brought her tremendous joy to see their faces and reactions.  She was a very social person, enjoying coffee dates and special suppers with friends and relatives.  When Alex passed away in 2001, Natalie continued to live independently until 2020 when she suffered a minor stroke.  She moved into the Villa where she remained until her passing.  Natalie will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her children and their families:  daughter JANET Weiman of Bruno and family Robert (special friend Nancy) and his children Nathan and Olivia, Ryan (Amy) and their daughters Jessica and Alyssa, Janelle (Robert) Lawrence and their children Colten, Levi and Skylar, and Michael (Regan); son-in-law RAY Malo of Edmonton and  family Brent (Kyley) and their children Paityn and Archer, and Kurt; son DENNIS Klimosko of Humboldt and family Derek, Kris (Samar) and Jared (Heather); daughter CHERYL (Maurice) Belanger of Edmonton; son TIM (Shelley) Klimosko of Humboldt and family Brayden (Katlyn) and son Jake, and Kayla; daughter LORRAINE (Edmond) Gilroyed of Lloydminster and family Jordan (Ashley) and their children Carter, Deklan, Bexley and Harlow, and Riley (Patricia) and her daughter Olivia; and son RICHARD of Saskatoon and his daughter Paige (Jordan); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Natalie was predeceased by her husband Alex; son James; daughters Phyllis Kurysh and Elaine Malo; and sons-in-law Larry Weiman and Stephan Kurysh.  The Funeral Mass for Natalie was held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, Humboldt, celebrated by Fr. Colin Roy.  Interment followed in the St. Augustine Parish Cemetery.  Memorial Donations in Natalie’s memory may be made to the St. Mary’s Villa Foundation.
