It is with great sadness the family of Norman Patrick Krysa, 61 years old, of Lanigan, SK, announce his sudden passing which occurred on June 11, 2021, in Lanigan, SK.
Norm was born on August 31, 1959, to Mike and Olive (nee Benson) Krysa. He grew up on a farm in the Guernsey/Burr area. He went to elementary school in Guernsey, and high school in Lanigan. After graduation Norm moved to Winnipeg and attended Herzing College for computer programming.
After his education was complete, he secured employment with PCS Lanigan, and spent his entire career working there. First as a computer programmer, then as a mine operator when the office he worked in was being relocated. He chose to change careers within the company to ensure his young family could continue to live in their tight-knit community.
In his spare time Norm loved to golf. Golfing was his passion in life. He would spend many hours at the golf course perfecting his already natural ability! When he wasn’t on the course, he enjoyed watching sports. Any and all sports! However, hockey was the most important to him. He only cheered for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and no one else… definitely not those pesky Habs. (Nobody actually likes them, right?) His other favorite past times were playing volleyball, listening to music and his garden. He was very dedicated to nurturing his beautiful flowers and tending to his vegetable garden. Last but not least was his love for his beloved dog, Ruby.
Norm was predeceased by his sister Meredith Lamping; nephew Cody Lamping; grandparents Wes and Ida Benson; grandparents Harry and Julia Krysa; and former father-in-law Rudolph Hemmelgarn.
Norm will be lovingly remembered by his parents Olive & Mike Krysa; children Danica Ruf (Nicholas) and Mitchel Krysa (Shaylyn Berezuik), both of Canora, SK; his grandchildren Jaxson, Elijah, Benjamin, and Bethany Ruf; his former partner of 30+ years, and mother of his children, Kathy Hemmelgarn of Humboldt, SK; his siblings, Alan Krysa of Saskatoon, SK; Bev Krysa (Todd Racette) of Regina, SK; Darlene Krysa (Dave Benson) of Humboldt, SK; Joyce Blum (Robert) of Swift Current, SK; and MaryAnn Reifferscheid (Herman) of Carmel, SK; former in-laws and close friends, Cheryl Roy (Clem) of Meadow Lake; Donna Baragar (Rob) of Foam Lake, SK; and Josie Hemmelgarn (Bob Bohun) of Saskatoon, SK; also many friends, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
Today we know his soul is at peace and enjoying “Hole 19”. Rest easy with your best friend, Ruby.
