Oris Margaret (Moore) Weber
December 1, 1932 – December 4, 2025
Oris passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at her residence a place she loved and where she found beauty, peace and tranquility.
Oris was born in a small remote hamlet in the far north of Ontario, into a large family of 11 siblings, each of whom she was extremely close to and loved dearly.
She lived for 52 years, surrounded by fields and woodlands on a small acreage of land at the southern edge of St. Peter’s Abby, which she transformed into an eco-oasis sanctuary, for local birds, insects and wildlife, through her thoughtful planting of trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals.
She was an earthmother and a steward of the land.
A deeply spiritual person, connected to the seen and unseen mysteries of life, she lived in a world of profound understanding of the inter-connectedness of all things.
Oris was an artist and a creator and that was reflected and expressed in the details of her home, the beauty of her gardens, indoors and out, how she dressed and the way in which she communicated with others.
She was unique, individualistic, unconventional, gentle and kind.
She is loved, remembered and deeply missed by family, friends and all whose lives she graced and touched.
A Private Gathering will take place at a later date. Memorial donations in Oris’s memory may be directed to Humboldt Food Bank.
