The peaceful death of Rose Marie Hordos (nee Molnar), 84 years, of Cupar and District Nursing Home and formerly of Lanigan and Raymore, occurred on Sunday, April 4, 2021. Rose Marie was born in Ontario on May 4, 1936. When she was two years old, she and her two brothers were adopted by Julius and Mary Molnar. She grew up in the St. Mary's District and attended Torendall country school. On October 27, 1953 Rose Marie married Joseph Hordos. They farmed together on the Hordos family farm, across from St. Mary’s Church until 1984. Rose Marie loved birds, tending chickens on the farm and always having a pet bird at home. She enjoyed gardening and her yard was always meticulously groomed with beautiful flowers. Throughout her life, she loved music, singing with the Senior Songsters in Raymore and the church choir wherever they attended. In 1984, Rose Marie and Joseph moved into Raymore and then in 2005 they moved to Lanigan. Joseph passed away in 2009 and Rose Marie remained there until about five years ago when she moved to Raymore and then finally to Cupar and District Nursing Home where she spent the last few years. She very much enjoyed her time there and all of the activities and people to visit with. Rose Marie will be lovingly remembered by her sisters-and-brothers-in law: Gizella Toth, Victoria Hordos, and Andrew (Helen) Hordos; numerous nieces and nephews and the Leganchuk family. She was predeceased by her parents, Julius and Mary Molnar; husband Joseph Hordos; brothers Joe (Pearl) Molnar and Bill (Violet) Molnar; parents-in-law Joseph Sr. and Rose Hordos; and brothers-in-law: Steve Hordos, Frank Toth, John (Anne) Hordos, and Gabe Hordos. The Funeral Mass for Rose Marie was held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Raymore, celebrated by Fr. Valentine Amobi V.F.
