Sharon Fetter Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon (Schroepfer) Fetter on Monday August 2, at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, Sask.  Sharon was born in Humboldt, Sask. on July 15, 1936, the eldest child of George and Mary (nee Hogan) Schroepfer. She spent her childhood happily growing up on the family farms in Bruno and Arborfield, where she also completed her schooling. Sharon enjoyed many years working in Arborfield at Cummings’ Store, and later completed technical training in commercial sign painting. In 1969, Sharon married Tom Fetter of Carrot River, and together they raised two sons, Chris and Brent.  Career advancement took the family to various Saskatchewan communities before they settled in Humboldt, Sask in 1981. Sharon was an active member of the Humboldt Willkommen Society, lending her time and artistic talents to the organization.  In later years, Sharon enjoyed travels to many destinations including the Maritime provinces, Arizona, California, Alaska, the Caribbean, Germany and Mexico.  Sharon was a lifelong artist and gifted painter.  She was a lover of nature, happiest when she was outdoors nurturing her expansive flower garden or at the lake.  Sharon was a friend to all animals, offering safe harbor to neighborhood strays and animals of all kinds.

Sharon’s memory will be lovingly cherished by her family: Chris (Nerina) Fetter of Martensville and Brent (Leanne) Fetter of Prince Albert and grandchildren, Braydon (Kelsie) and Jade (Bray); siblings and their families:  Georgia and children, Cindy (Terry), Dwane (Linda) and Mari, Robert (Susan) and daughter Jennifer (Curtis), Mari and sons David (Julie) and Brad, Donna (Dee) and son Sean, George (Nola) and children Gerald (James), George (Tomona), Bonnie (Denis) Amber, Christopher and Matthew.  Sharon was predeceased by her parents and husband, Tom.

The Funeral Mass was offered on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church, celebrated by Father Colin. Internment followed at St. Augustine Roman Catholic Cemetery, Humboldt.  Cross bearer was Warren Fetter and readings were read by Mari Gurbach Hemery and Angie Wanhella.  Pallbearers were George Schroepfer (Sr.), Gerald Schroepfer, George Schroepfer (Jr.), Dwane Gurbach, Brad Whitlam and Sean Butala.  Memorial donations in Sharon’s memory may be directed to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation and Humboldt SPCA.
