Stanley Dublanica Obituary

The peaceful passing of Stanley Andrew Nicholas Dublanica,  81 years, occurred on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at the Wynyard Golden Acers Nursing Home which had been his residence for the past 4 years and 3 ½ months.  Stanley was born in Lestock to Alex and  Nellie (nee Belinski) Dublanica on December 17, 1939.  He obtained his education at Wishart.  Following school, he worked at a variety of jobs helping farmers in the area.  Stanley, known to many as Chink, was a bus driver for over 31 years in the Wishart District.  He eventually became the owner the Pool Hall and then added the Liquor Vendor to his business.  He would have to go to Foam Lake often to get the School Bus serviced, so while he waited, he would frequent the Foam Lake Bakery for coffee and a treat.  This is where he met the love of his life,Lucy Kowalchuk and on September 6, 1980 they were wed in Foam Lake.  They began their married life in Wishart, where Chink continued to drive bus and Lucy would look after the Pool Hall and Liquor Vendor.  He would also help farmers,  driving the combine, during harvest.  Chink also enjoyed ice fishing at Fishing Lake.  He was an avid gardener and side by side, Chink and Lucy worked hard keeping their gardens bountiful and their yard beautifully manicured.  For a period they grew Elephant Garlic that was known far and wide as being the best garlic around.  They were together all the time and enjoyed dancing, Sunday drives in the country to check crops, and visiting friends and relatives in the area.  Chink was always well dressed in his western attire. Chink’s happy go lucky joking personality and his big smile will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his very dedicated and caring wife of 41 years Lucy Dublanica of Wynyard; brother-in-law Bernie Kowalski and by many good friends.  Chink was predeceased by his parents Alex and Nellie Dublanica; brother Edward Dublanica and sister Carolyn Kowalski.  As per Chink’s wishes, a service will not be held at this time.  Memorial donations in Stanley’s memory may be directed to Wynyard Golden Acres Nursing Home through the Golden Acres Auxiliary.
