Terry Donald Lynch

Terry Donald Lynch, 63 years, of Jansen passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 with his family by his side.  Terry was born on June 5, 1955 to Donald and Marion (nee Bell) Lynch in Nokomis.  He was raised on the family farm in the Haliburton area where he lived all his life.  He attended elementary school in Lockwood and high school in Lanigan.  During his youth, Terry enjoyed playing hockey and baseball. Following his education, he worked at a variety of local jobs including PCS Lanigan, Keen Trailers, Mount Hope Prairie Rose PFRA Pasture and Poundmaker.  He eventually took over the family’s mixed farming operation, which he was still operating.  He returned to PCS Lanigan where he worked until retirement  in 2015.  On September 24, 1977, Terry married Peggy Stephan and they were blessed with a family of three children.   Terry enjoyed the outdoors, nature, wildlife and birds.   He was a cowboy at heart and participated in team roping events for many years.  Hunting trips and fishing trips to Long Lake, Barrier Lake, Delwood and Jan Lake were enjoyed with family and friends over the years. Terry loved to socialize and would visit with anyone and everyone he met.  He enjoyed playing cards, dice and games and the gathering of friends and family that went along with it. Over the years, he always took time to support his children in the various activities that they were involved in.  He was a member of the Jansen Kinsmen Club, Haliburton Community Club and the Prairie Rose Roping Club.  Terry will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 41 years, Peggy Lynch of Jansen; three children and three grandchildren:  Tyler (Amy) Lynch of Regina and children Hayden and Sophie, Dustin Lynch (Brenna Dureault) of Haliburton and their daughter Blakely, and Stephanie Lynch (Terran Prevost) of Kipabiskau Lake and their fur baby, Rayla; two brothers and one sister:  Brian (Lynne) Lynch of Regina, Bob (Leslie) Lynch of Vernon, BC and Shelley (Stan) Hein of Oyen, AB; mother-in-law Doreen Stephan of Lanigan; in-laws of the Stephan family:  Garry (Renee) Stephan of Regina, Connie (Mylles) Wildeman of Esk, and Brenda Brenner of Lanigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Terry was predeceased by his parents Donald and Marion Lynch; father-in-law Lawrence Stephan; brother-in-law Ken Brenner; and niece Kelli Wildeman.  A Celebration of Life for Terry was held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jansen Community Hall, officiated by Pastor Chad Moir.  Interment will follow at a later date in the Jansen Community Cemetery.  Memorial Donations in Terry’s memory may be made to the Lanigan Hospital.
