Tim was born in Swan River, Manitoba on October 8, 1960, to Joe and Leeda Nemez. He was the youngest of three children. He had two older sisters whom he said teased and tickled him mercilessly. Tim began walking at a very young age which I’m thinking was just so that he could run away from them. In October of 1972, Tim accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Saviour. He also took the step of obedience and was baptized on September 9, 1973. His early and middle school years were attended in Minitonas, Manitoba and high school in Swan River, Manitoba. Upon graduation in 1979, he spent a few months working in St. Albert, Alberta, but returned home to work for the Water Resources crew in Minitonas. Tim met Marilyn at a college and career gathering on January 20, got engaged June 2 and married October 20, all in 1984. We made our home in Minitonas.

Tim enjoyed going fishing and hunting, especially with his dad. We enjoyed going camping in the Riding Mountains until we bought a cabin at Wellman Lake and we would go there every weekend, thus the fondness of living at the lake. Tim also enjoyed going on cruises and we were able to go on a few. Tim was involved in many organizations; was a volunteer firefighter for the Minitonas Fire Dept., a driver for the Minitonas Handi-Van Assoc., janitor for the Minitonas Post Office and Minitonas Municipal Office, and fill-in custodian for various schools in the Swan Valley School Division. January 1993, we purchased a trophy business from Tim’s sister and brother-in-law which we named M/T Trophies. We ran this business from our house for 20 years. During this time, Tim was also employed at a few different businesses with the longest one being at the Swan Valley Co-op. The last year while living in Minitonas, the Lord was leading Tim to make a move. So, on December 14, 2012, we made the move to Humboldt. He began employment on December 17, 2012, at Humboldt Sobeys. He enjoyed his work there and loved meeting new people everyday. Tim developed quite a rapport with the customers and they loved him.

Our life in Humboldt began at Humboldt Lake Resort. A new development opened there so another move was made August 26, 2017, which was just across the road from where we were living. Tim loved it there enjoying all the wildlife that came to our window, namely moose and deer. He would never tire of watching them and feeding them. He would often comment that if his dad was still here, he would also enjoy seeing the wildlife. We found our church family at Humboldt Bible Church. He recently began attending a Men’s Leader Impact group which he thoroughly enjoyed. Tim was currently helping out at Club DJ for kids at our church, which he loved with a passion.

Tim had just turned 65 in October so was proud to belong to the “brown envelope club”. He was a Winnipeg Blue Bombers fan and he loved the rivalry it created in Roughrider country! On the evening of February 14, he went Home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

A Memorial Service for Tim was held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. from Humboldt Bible Church. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Tim can be directed to a charity of your choice or to practice random acts of kindness.
