With great sadness, we remember Vernon Scott, who passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Vern was predeceased by his parents Ruth and Eugene. He leaves behind his wife and soulmate, Karen, his brother Ray, and dearest sister Sharon, 6 nieces, 6 nephew, 7 great-nephews, and 6 great nieces, as well as his goddaughter. Vern also leaves a whole list of family-in-law members who loved him dearly.
Vern was a very special man who touched the lives of many, many people, near and far. His smile would light up our days when mixed with his jovial sense of humour and his huge loving, sensitive heart. He believed in working hard and playing hard. He grew up hunting, fishing, water skiing, and playing hockey with many dear friends. During his years in Kelowna, BC, he loved snowmobiling, going on motorcycle bike trips, and to drag races in Las Vegas, with many treasured friends. The last five years he fulfilled his dream of being around and farming with those he loved the most, his family.
Words cannot express our loss, but we must hold onto the treasured memories of our times we had with him and be so grateful for the gift HE was to us all.
As per Vernon’s wishes, a Private Family Gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and cards, memorial donations in Vern’s memory may be directed to Heart & Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada.
