Veronica Saretsky Obituary

Veronica was born on June 1st, 1919 in Humboldt, SK. The youngest child of Florentine (nee Schimanosky) and Mathew Suchan.  She grew up in the Burr area and attended Willow Ridge School.  Veronica married her child hood sweetheart, George L. Saretsky on Sept. 27th, 1944.  They farmed in the Burr district. She kept busy looking after her six children, house-hold responsibilities, gardening, canning, as well as helping out on the farm.  Veronica was an excellent cook and prior to retirement cooked at the Lanigan Mine and Humboldt Auction Mart.  She also worked at St. Mary's Villa in house keeping.  She was a skilled seamstress sewing for her family, enjoyed quilting, crocheting and braiding rugs.  She was an avid gardener and spent time tending to her beautiful floral gardens.  Veronica and George loved to travel, socialize, played many a game of kaiser, dancing and clowning around with her sisters-in-law.  She enjoyed going for coffee, having ice cream, hosting dinner parties, participating in social community events with her friends.  Veronica's faith was important to her and was a member of Christian Mother's and CWL for many years.  Christmas and Easter were her favorite time of the year, with an abundance of traditional dishes and baked specialties.  Veronica passed peacefully with family by her side accompanied by "Ave Maria".

Veronica will be lovingly remembered by her six children; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren:

TERRY (Yvonne) Saretsky of Humboldt and family Kim (Kelly) Saretsky and their children Cody, Dailyn, and Rhett of Humboldt, and Tracey (Daniel) Nemeth of Humboldt and their daughter Jade (Brayden) Kiefer of Melfort;
