Victoire Goulet-Eichorst Obituary

Victoire Goulet-Eichorst passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Humboldt District Hospital.  Victoire (known by most as Vicky) was born on January 27, 1946 to Leoville and Marie-Marthe (nee Jacob) Goulet in St. Severin de Prouxville, Quebec.  She started to work at the young age of 13; she spent three years in a clothing factory then four years at a hospital.  At 20, Victoire married Edwin Mikulcik and moved to New York State for two years where she worked in a clothing factory while Edwin was working on his Ph.D.  This is also where she started to learn English.  Following that, they moved to Calgary where they were blessed with three children; Barbara, Steven and John.  When her marriage ended, her career path took many turns but eventually, after training in Esthetics, she opened Victoire Esthetics in Calgary.  She worked hard and put in many long hours creating a very successful business that she ran for 20 years before her daughter, Barbara took it over.  Victoire’s path crossed with Gordon Eichorst’s and, sensing that this was too good to let it pass her by, she married him in 2003.   Instantly, her family grew to include two more sons, Rob and Rick, and their families.  Victoire and Gordon were able to enjoy traveling to many parts of the world including Europe, South America, Alaska, the Panama Canal, many cruises and all over Canada.  For seven years, they spent winters in Yuma, Arizona where they made many good friends and had lots of fun.  In 2016, due to her health not allowing travel, they stayed home and enjoyed most of their time in Saskatchewan.  Vicky will be lovingly remembered by her loving husband, Gordon and her children, Barbara (Reid) Costley, Steven (Kristen) and John (Kathy) Mikulcik and her two step-sons, Rob (Allison) and Rick (Aleisha) Eichorst.   She will also be fondly remembered by her 14 grandchildren, Emily, Madeline, Grace, Jayden, Joey, Ryan, Nathan, William, Adam, Jay, Grayson, Tucker, Keyanne, and Jeneyn as well as her siblings Louise, Laurier and Denis Goulet.  She was predeceased by her parents, Leoville and Marie-Marthe Goulet and brothers, Andre and Jeannot.  The Funeral Service for Victoire was held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lanigan, officiated by Pastor George Hind.  Interment took place in Queen’s Park Cemetery in Calgary.  Memorial donations in Victoire’s memory may be made to the Lung Association of Saskatchewan or the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation.
