Irene Mary (Kienlen) Doepker

The sudden and unexpected death of Irene Mary Doepker (nee Kienlen), 62 years, of Humboldt occurred on October 7, 2017. Irene was born on August 10, 1955 in Humboldt to Wilfred and Pearl Kienlen. She grew up on the family farm, east of Burr and attended Banner School until grade 5. She went on to complete her education in Muenster. Following school she worked for Dr. Bill Prokopishin for a number of years and then the Department of Culture and Recreation. She married Mark Doepker on August 16th, 1975 and they were blessed with three children, Erica, Ryley and Amy. Irene enjoyed gardening, riding her bike and visiting with friends. She was a sports enthusiast, always following statistics, trades and local sporting events. Her favourites being the sports and interests her children had, especially the hockey teams that Ryley played on. Starting in the early years, birthdays were celebrated with a trip to Dairy Queen to enjoy a special meal and ice cream cake. An annual tradition everyone looked forward to! Most of all Irene loved spending time with her children. They shared so many beautiful memories, eating, joking, having a beer and enjoying a good laugh. Irene was proud of her children and everything they have accomplished. She loved giving thoughtful gifts to the special people in her life. Her wide smile, sense of humour and kind heart will be will be cherished forever. Irene will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her three children: Erica Doepker (fiancé Brian Snell) of Saskatoon, Ryley Doepker (fiancée Carissa Wempe) of Martensville, and Amy Doepker of Humboldt; husband Mark Doepker of Humboldt; three sisters and one brother: Dolores Schmeichel of Ottawa, Doreen (Rene) Grace of Muenster, Elaine Kienlen of Winnipeg, and Jerry (Esther) Kienlen of Humboldt; numerous brothers-and-sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Wilfred and Pearl Kienlen.   A prayer Service for Irene was held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, led by Nestor Trach. A Private Family Funeral Service was held with interment following in St. Augustine Parish Cemetery.   After a long struggle with OCD the family has requested that Memorial Donations in Irene’s memory may be made to Mental Health & Addiction Services c/o Royal University Hospital Foundation.
